TechnoKids Computer Curriculum is a collection of technology projects that contain lesson plans and resources. The instructional materials use a project-based approach to integrate technology skills into a K-12 education. The computer curriculum is divided into six categories: Primary, Junior, Intermediate, Senior, Camp and Teacher.
About TechnoKids Computer Curriculum
Each category contains a set of technology projects designed to teach a range of technology skills. A technology project is instructional material that contains detailed lesson plans used to integrate technology into a curriculum. A technology project includes a teacher guide, student workbook and resource files. Resource files inslude assessment tools, certificates, parent letters, templates, sample files and more!
Teach Technology Skills
TechnoKids Computer Curriculum includes over 50 technology projects that include meaningful activities to teach essential technology skills. Technology skills include: word processing, programming, photo editing, animation, spreadsheets, desktop publishing, Internet, databases, operating systems and presentation skills.
Project-Based Learning and TechnoKids
TechnoKids uses a project-based learning instructional approach. Project-based learning is a unique approach to teaching technology skills. With project-based learning, students complete technology projects that focus around problem solving tasks. Students learn technology skills gradually as they complete activities such as publishing a magazine, creating a multimedia storyboard or developing a website, just to name a few!
Technology Integration
TechnoKids technology projects have detailed lesson plans that include step by step instructions used to integrate technology into curriculum effectively to create meaningful learning opportunities for students. Each technology project contains theme-related assignments that use Microsoft® and Adobe® applications. TechnoKids lesson plans explain how to: produce a book advertisement using PowerPoint; write a report about endangered species using Word; analyze and graph survey results using Excel; organize data on a topic using Access; create a digital scrapbook using Photoshop; or animate a story using Flash. Each technology project integrates into traditional subject areas, such as language arts, mathematics, social studies, science and visual arts.
